Friday morning found us sleepy-eyed in the Zurich airport, awaiting Mary’s good friend Stefanie, who, along the way home offered us sweet treats from Turkey that we quickly became addicted to. The treats were made from mulberry, nuts and honey in a small community that had a long-standing tradition of making these Turkish delights. They are unlike anything we have eaten before, satisfying on some odd primal level (and the box proudly displays the fact that they are also an aphrodisiac). Currently finding ourselves without the immediate need of this side benefit, we have been the boxes that were gifted to us with friends along our way.
Friday evening we met old friends of Mary’s, Oscar, Gudrun, Erich and Stefanie for dinner at the local favorite Indian Restaurant.
