Journey to Southern Switzerland

We arrived at the train station in Lugano later in the day, and were met by our good friends David and Zak. Zak and his wife, Charlotte, graciously offered to house us in their lovely contemporary home up on the hills above the city of Lugano. Zak was the original percussionist for David’s band Tamboura, and now he is a teacher (former administrator) at Franklin International School in Lugano. Charlotte teaches English at a private international school geared to the earlier grades and loves her job there.
The first night Zak, a talented chef and host, shared many tales of his recent trips to Africa with his students. The focus of these expeditions was to help African communities create sustainable living environments. After dinner David, Zak and Mary shared music with the guests that Zak and Charlotte had invited to join us. Everyone had a good time.
