Music Together Family Event- Italian style

Music Together is an organization that provides parents and their young children with research based interactive music and movement activities. The classes are designed to have parents participate in music making and movement with their young children and with other families. Basically, it is a circle of adults, children and babies playing, singing and bouncing around together. So imagine, if you will, three hundred young, lively Italian families gathering together with food, music and dance. Did we mention it was held in a senior citizens center, in a large banquet size hall? The food tables were a carb lover’s paradise packed with homemade pizzas of all shapes and sizes, pastas, cakes, cookies and sandwiches. Not a leaf of lettuce or vegetable to be found! The Italians make up quite the gourmet potluck. Only thing missing was gelato. The party started around seven, but music and dancing continued long after 10pm. It was wonderful to participate in such an inter-generational event designed for children and their development. Kids just love to sing and dance with adults!
