Our villa is the only two story, located at the west end and facing open farmland and rice patties. We are on the second story, and overlook our favorite new Balinese friends, the brown cow and the white egret. We observe the attentive egret fluttering around the cow. We imagine this must be a symbiotic relationship where the egret feasts and the cow is relieved of pesky flies and insects. It is amusing to watch such a funny interaction. Another national geographic moment we witnessed the first night was one of our friendly villa geckos swallowing a huge (only 5 legs??? odd spider) spider in the loo.
